Here we are, planning another Wanette Flag Day Celebration.
Last year we had a great turnout and lots of fun. We had a great parade with the Chickasaw Nation Color Guard leading the way. The Wanette Volunteer Fire Department and Tribbey Fire Department were right behind them. Everyone had fun watching the off-road vehicles from Soggy Bottom and Madden’s Crew, then the Wanette Flag Day Princesses and the Noble Roundup Club finished the parade.
The Indian Territory Regulators, a gunfighter reenactment group, performed several times throughout the day, and there were plenty of games and contests, including a dunk tank, and a delicious pie baking contest.
We topped off the day with a barbeque dinner and a great musical performance by Wait for What!
Now here’s the big news of the year….
We are very pleased to announce that the rodeo is back! This year we’ll have all the great events during the day and we’ll close the day with a rodeo by G Money Rodeo Co.
We’re working hard already to get our rodeo arena updated and ready for Flag Day. Anyone interested in helping out can contact our rodeo coordinator.
